AAAID Meetings with:
Meeting with her Excellency Minister of Economy and Trade in Syria
Her Excellency Limya Marei
Aasiy member of AAAID’S
Shareholders Board, Minister
of Economy and Trade in the
Arab Republic of Syria has
received HE Ali Bin Saeed
Alsharhan President of AAAID
in her office, during his
visit to Syria on October
2010.
And they discussed
investment opportunities in
Syria and the possibility of
cooperation with the private
sector (in line with AAAID
statute) and they discussed
the obstacles that facing
AAAID affiliated companies
in Syria and the members’
states support to these
companies.
HE Ali Alsharhan has also
presented full details about
AAAID’S role in attracting
the Arab investors to
participate in the
implementation of the
Agricultural projects,
pointing the problems and
difficulties that facing
AAAID ‘S companies such as
delayed payment by some
shareholders, and the
default estimates on profits
without having to rely on
the accounting books. The
meeting has also discussed
the possibility to increase
the vegetable Oils Co.’s
ratio of cotton seeds beside
other related issues.
And from her side, her
Excellency the minister has
praised AAAID future
directives and she showed
good spirit to contribute in
the Arab Agricultural
Investment Holding Company,
which AAAID willing to
establish, and she has
invited AAAID to contribute
in the company that will be
established in Sudan for
agricultural and animal
production, aiming to get
benefit of AAAID experiences
in this regard.
In the same regard her
Excellency the minister has
confirmed the necessity to
increase the vegetable oil
company’s share from cotton
seeds crop besides
submitting a memorandum to
the economical committee
during its coming meeting
which will discuss the
regulations of import, taxes
and related matters.
In conclusion HE President
of AAAID has thanked her
Excellency the Minister for
the warm reception, promised
to brief the board of
directors about the Republic
of Syria offer about its
imitative to contribute in
the the Arab Agricultural
Investment Holding Company,
and he emphasized his keen
to adopt this desire in
front of founding committee
and other shareholders.

Meeting with the Minister of Agriculture and Agricultural Reform
in Syria
HE Ali Bin Saeed Alsharhan,
President of AAAID has
reviewed aspects of joint
cooperation between AAAID &
the Ministry of Agriculture
in Syria and the projects
which achieved , declaring
AAAID vision in the regard
of encouraging and
attracting the private
sector companies in
establishing the
agricultural and animal
projects , in order to
bridge Arab food gap and to
benefit from experiments of
the successful countries in
this regard particularly
seeds and its new varieties.
All above was during his
meeting with HE Doctor Adil
Sifr , Minister of
Agriculture in Syria on
October 2010 , and they
focused in finance and
technical performance of
projects that AAAID has
shareholders, also the
obstacles and solutions.
from his part, HE the
Minister has confirmed his
willingness to provide
required support for AAAID’S
companies and all facilities
that will enhance the
capability, stressing the
need for concerted efforts
and the Arab experiences to
set up agric & animal
projects to raise living
standard of the Arab citizen
, calling AAAID to
contribute in this projects
particularly in the field of
fertilizers & modern
irrigation systems ,
praising its role in
developing the quality and
quantity of agric
production.

Meeting with
general manager of ACSAD
HE Ali Bin Saeed Alsharhan ,
president of AAAID and the
accompany delegation have
visited the Arab Center for
the study of Arid zones and
Dry lands (ACSAD) on Tuesday
12 October2010 According to
the kind invitation from the
general manger Dr. Rafig Ali
Salih ,they reviewed
cooperation between AAAID &
ACSAD and the ways to
promote and enhance it,
particularly zero tillage
Agriculture System and the
program of improvement of
dates palm cultivation in
some Arab countries ,as well
as the efforts to combat
land degradation and
desertification beside
aspects of cooperation
between AAAID’S companies
and its partners from the
private sector and ACSAD,
and they considered the
enhancing of human resources
capability in the
agricultural field.
