Project Selection Guidelines
In order to increase the efficiency of its performance toward fulfillment of its primary objectives and its ultimate goal of producing the maximum possible amounts of food materials, specially in the light of the regional and international environmental, technological and economic developments, the Arab Authority for Agricultural Investment and Development (AAAID) has adopted new guidelines for the selection of projects. Such guidelines emphasize the selection of projects with the following nature and types:
- Projects that have direct impact on boosting quantitative and qualitative food security.
- Projects that are based on the concept of large-scale production.
- Projects that have the potential of achieving integration between agricultural production and agricultural processing within the country or between member countries.
- Projects that apply appropriate integrated technology packages.
- Projects that build on the principle of comparative advantage towards achieving agricultural integration between member countries.
- Pilot projects that would serve as models in applying advanced agricultural techniques, to be followed by other investors.
