At the gracious invitation of His Excellency Mohamed bin Hadi Al Hussaini, Minister of State for Financial Affairs of the United Arab Emirates, His Excellency Dr. Obaid Saif Hamad Al Zaabi, Chairman of the Board of the Arab Authority for Agricultural Investment and Development (AAAID), participated in a high-level closed-door discussion titled “Leveraging Artificial Intelligence and Enhancing Country Readiness”
The session was convened by the Ministry of Finance of the United Arab Emirates, in cooperation with the International Monetary Fund (IMF), on the sidelines of the World Governments Summit, and was held in Dubai on 3 February 2026.
Dr. Al Zaabi participation reflects the AAAID’s commitment to supporting the adoption of smart solutions and fostering innovation across productive sectors, as well as contributing to enhancing countries’ readiness to harness the promising potential of artificial intelligence, in a manner that supports sustainable and inclusive economic growth.
The high-level closed session provided a platform for dialogue among policymakers, heads of international financial institutions, academics, and private-sector leaders, to discuss ways to develop and reform macroeconomic policies. The discussions focused on strengthening national economic readiness and ensuring the effective use of artificial intelligence as a positive driver of economic growth, while mitigating emerging risks, including challenges related to domestic disruptions and widening development gaps among countries.
