In a strategic step aimed at enhancing the efficiency of its investment ecosystem and advancing its strategic objectives, and following the conclusion of the previous term of the Investment Advisory Council, the Arab Authority for Agricultural Investment and Development (AAAID) has reconstituted the Council for a new term. This reconstitution reflects the Authority’s commitment to adopting best practices in agricultural investment and project development.
The Council comprises a distinguished group of experts from diverse nationalities and professional backgrounds, with extensive experience in agricultural investment management, agricultural finance, investment opportunity assessment, and governance enhancement.
The Council is chaired by H.E. Dr. Nasser Bakr Alkahtani, Advisor to the Chairman and Envoy of the Arab Gulf Programme for Development (AGFUND). The Council also includes the following distinguished members:
• H.E. Dr. Salman bin Saleh bin Salman Al-Duhailan: Associate Professor of Economics, College of Sharia, Al-Ahsa, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
• H.E. Mr. Mohamed Ali Yassin: Financial and investment sector expert and Chief Executive Officer of Al Ghaaf Investments, a Lunate company.
• H.E. Prof. Mohsen El Batran: Emeritus Professor of Agricultural Economics, Faculty of Agriculture, Cairo University, and Chairman of the Agriculture Committee at the Senate.
• H.E. Mr. Mohamed Osman Abdelgadir Elzain: Former Executive Director of the Investment Sector at the Arab Authority for Agricultural Investment and Development.
• H.E. Dr. Shalan A. Edan Al Mashikhi: Former Director of the Studies and Development Department at the Arab Authority for Agricultural Investment and Development.
The Investment Advisory Council represents one of AAAID’s key institutional pillars. Established in 2024, it provides advisory support on investment opportunities and proposals, and oversees the performance of the Authority’s investment portfolio—both direct investments and those executed through investment funds—thereby enhancing operational efficiency and supporting well-informed and effective investment decision-making.
Through the reconstitution of the Council, the Authority reaffirms its commitment to sound governance and the utilization of specialized expertise, further strengthening its capacity to support sustainable agricultural development and reinforce its role in advancing Arab food security.
