H.E. Dr. Obaid Saif Hamad Al Zaabi, Chairman of the AAAID Board, participated in the official opening session of the 2026 Annual Meetings of the Islamic Development Bank (IsDB) Group, held in Baku, Republic of Azerbaijan, from 16 to 19 June 2026 under the theme “Regional Integration as a Driver of Sustainable Prosperity”.
The meetings were attended by H.E. Ilham Aliyev, President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, and brought together Governors and Alternate Governors representing the IsDB Group’s 57 member countries, in addition to senior officials and representatives of regional and international financial and development institutions. AAAID’s participation reflects its commitment to strengthening international cooperation and expanding multilateral development partnerships.
On the sidelines of the Annual Meetings, H.E. Dr. Al Zaabi held a series of bilateral meetings with senior officials and representatives of international financial and development institutions to explore opportunities for cooperation and advance strategic partnerships.
In this context, H.E. Dr. Obaid Al Zaabi met with H.E. Dr. Mohamed Yisr Barnieh, Minister of Finance of the Syrian Arab Republic; H.E. Mr. Abdullah Almusaibeeh, President of the Arab Bank for Economic Development in Africa (BADEA); H.E. Mohamed Murad Hassan Mohammed Al Blooshi, Ambassador of the United Arab Emirates to the Republic of Azerbaijan; and H.E. Ali Abdullah Sharafi, Assistant Undersecretary for International Financial Relations at the Ministry of Finance of the United Arab Emirates.
The meetings addressed a number of issues of mutual interest and explored opportunities to strengthen cooperation and coordination in a manner that supports sustainable development efforts, enhances development impact, and contributes to the achievement of the shared objectives of the respective institutions.
