As part of its strategy to expand high-impact investments and strengthen development partnerships across the Arab region, the Arab Authority for Agricultural Investment and Development (AAAID) participated in the 22nd edition of the Tunisia Investment Forum 2016, through a delegation led by Dr. Abdelilah Belatik, Executive Director of Investment Sector. The forum was held in Tunis on 25–26 June 2026 under the theme “Tunisia: Renewed Dynamic, New Opportunities”.
The forum brought together senior government officials, representatives of regional and international financial and development institutions, investors, and business leaders. It was attended by Her Excellency Mrs. Sarra Zaafrani Zenzri, Prime Minister of the Republic of Tunisia, providing a high-level platform to showcase investment opportunities and promote economic cooperation and sustainable development.
AAAID’s participation reflects its commitment to promoting sustainable agricultural investment, advancing Arab investment integration, and fostering strategic partnerships that enhance agricultural productivity, strengthen value chains, and improve the resilience of food systems, contributing to food security and sustainable economic development across the Arab region.
On the sidelines of the forum, the AAAID delegation held a series of meetings with officials from Tunisia’s Ministry of Trade and Export Development and the Ministry of Economy and Planning to explore opportunities for institutional cooperation, review priority investment opportunities, and discuss mechanisms for developing strategic partnerships that support agricultural investment, enhance sector competitiveness, and advance sustainable development objectives.
The delegation also met with investors, private sector representatives, and entrepreneurs to exchange views on promising investment opportunities and explore potential partnerships that leverage capital and expertise to support agricultural development and strengthen food security.
As part of its ongoing oversight of AAAID’s investment portfolio in Tunisia, the delegation conducted a field programme that included a meeting with the management of Mabrouka Seeds Company, as well as site visits to SAGES Capital, Al Marja Company, and the GINOR manufacturing facility. The visits provided an opportunity to review operational performance, assess ongoing activities, and explore opportunities to enhance investment efficiency and maximize development impact.
AAAID continues to work closely with its partners across the Arab region to mobilize strategic investments, develop high-impact initiatives and projects, and strengthen regional economic and investment integration, contributing to sustainable economic growth, a more resilient agricultural sector, and enhanced Arab food security.
