The Arab Authority for Agricultural Investment and Development (AAAID) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Science for All Foundation (S4AF), an Ireland-based non-profit organisation, to strengthen cooperation in food security, agricultural innovation, agricultural investment, research and studies, and evidence-based knowledge in support of relevant development priorities.
The MoU was signed on behalf of AAAID by H.E. Dr. Obaid Saif Hamad Al Zaabi, Chairman of the Board of the Arab Authority for Agricultural Investment and Development (AAAID), and on behalf of the Science for All Foundation (S4AF) by Mr. Declan Kirrane, Managing Director.
The partnership establishes a framework for cooperation in areas of mutual interest, including the identification of research and thematic priorities, joint research and innovation activities, and the preparation of joint reports, analytical studies, policy briefs and strategic position papers. It also provides for the mobilisation of expert networks, stakeholder engagement and the development of institutional partnerships.
The cooperation is intended to strengthen the links between investment, scientific research, innovation and evidence-based policymaking, supporting the development of knowledge and analytical outputs that can contribute to addressing food security challenges and advancing agricultural development.
H.E. Dr. Obaid Saif Hamad Al Zaabi, Chairman of the Board of AAAID, said:
“Addressing food security challenges requires an integrated approach that brings together investment, knowledge, innovation and scientific research. Through this partnership, AAAID seeks to strengthen knowledge generation and specialised analysis, while connecting scientific expertise with investment opportunities. This cooperation will help support practical initiatives that contribute to food security and sustainable agricultural development across the Arab region, alongside specialised scientific institutions and networks.”
Mr. Declan Kirrane, Managing Director of the Science for All Foundation (S4AF), said:
“We are pleased to collaborate with AAAID through this Memorandum of Understanding. The partnership provides an opportunity to strengthen collaboration between scientific expertise and investment and development institutions, and to translate knowledge, research and analysis into practical outputs that can inform policymaking and support innovation in food security and agriculture. We look forward to working with AAAID to expand cooperation, exchange expertise and strengthen engagement across international scientific forums.”
The MoU provides for cooperation in identifying priorities related to food security, agricultural innovation, agricultural investment, research and studies, as well as the development of joint knowledge products, engagement with stakeholders and expert networks, institutional cooperation, and coordinated communications and outreach in support of joint initiatives.
The partnership also creates a platform for coordinated engagement in international scientific forums, including the Science Summit, providing opportunities to advance dialogue at the intersection of science, innovation, investment and development.
