Dr. Abdelilah Belatik, Executive Director of the Investment Sector at the Arab Authority for Agricultural Investment and Development (AAAID), participated in the FAO Policy Majlis during Global Food Week 2026 in Abu Dhabi.
The session examined the financing and investment landscape for agrifood systems transformation in the Near East and North Africa (NENA) region, with a focus on the role of financing mechanisms, technical and advisory support, and impact-oriented investment in mobilising resources for food security. Discussions also explored ways to de-risk investment and attract additional capital to agrifood systems.
The FAO Policy Majlis brings together technical experts, youth representatives, researchers, innovators, financing partners, private-sector stakeholders and other relevant actors to exchange perspectives on policy priorities, emerging solutions and investment needs to support agrifood systems transformation across the region.
