The Arab Authority for Agricultural Investment and Development (AAAID), has signed an agreement with the Digital School, one of Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives, to launch the Agriculture Academy under the “Skills Academies” initiative. The Academy aims to strengthen the capacities of Arab youth in sustainable agriculture and food security.
The Agriculture Academy will provide specialized training programs tailored to the Arab region and offered through advanced digital learning platforms. The initiative seeks to train and upskill up to 10,000 beneficiaries, providing them with practical expertise to drive sustainable farming and reinforce food security across the region.
AAAID’s contribution to supporting the Academy programs delivered by The Digital School under the SkillED Academies framework. This reflects AAAID’s commitment to investing in human capital, promoting food security and sustainable development, and translating its social responsibility mandate into impactful initiatives on the ground.
His Excellency Dr. Obaid Saif Hamad Al Zaabi, Chairman of the Board of AAAID, stated: “The launch of the Agriculture Academy marks a strategic step toward preparing a new generation of farmers and Agri entrepreneurs. At AAAID, we believe that investing in human capital is the cornerstone of food security and sustainable development. Through this initiative, we will deliver advanced digital training programs for nearly 10,000 beneficiaries across the Arab region, turning agricultural challenges into opportunities for growth and innovation, while reinforcing agriculture as a fundamental pillar of Arab economic and social security”.
Dr. Waleed Al Ali, Secretary General of the Digital School, added: “Through this partnership, we reaffirm our joint commitment to empowering youth and communities across the Arab world with the tools they need to acquire practical skills that enable them to build a better future for themselves and their societies”.
The signing ceremony featured an insightful panel discussion titled “Skilling for Agriculture and Food Security in the Arab World: Harnessing Innovation for Sustainable Futures”. Panellists from AAAID, The Digital School, and international experts shared perspectives on the role of innovation and targeted skilling in strengthening agriculture and ensuring food security in the Arab world.
This milestone reflects the UAE’s ongoing commitment to advancing innovation in education and sustainable development, while fostering regional collaboration to achieve shared food security goals.
