Established in 1989 as a joint Arab financial institution that enjoys an independent legal personality enjoying the privileges and immunities granted to it by the United Arab Emirates. The Program aims to contribute to the development of Arab trade and to enhance the productive and competitive capabilities of the Arab producer and exporter by providing the necessary financing for Arab trade activities at affordable cost and conditions. The program also seeks to provide information to exporters and importers in Arab countries about Arab trade activities, dealers in them and the potentials available in Markets and opportunities to develop and benefit from them in addition to promoting trade exchange in Arab commodities through holding meetings for exporters and importers of Arab products, and the program is keen on cooperation and coordination with local and regional financing and guarantee institutions to provide the necessary insurance cover for commercial exchanges in Arab goods.
