AAAID received an economic and scientific delegation from Kingdom of Morocco

An economic and scientific delegation was received by the President of AAAID, H.E. Mr. Mohammed bin Obaid Al Mazrooei, at his office on Thursday, 13 July, 2023, in Dubai – UAE, which was headed by the International Expert Foreign Trade and Economic Diplomacy, Mr. Amine Laghidi, and with membership of Mr. Najah Jawad, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Detroit International and Chairman of the Iraqi-Moroccan Economic Council, Mr. Tarik Marraha, Executive Director of the same Board and Director of Partnerships at Detroit International, Mr. Mohammed Oumekki, Vice Chairman and Director General of Detroit International, and member of the Board of Directors of the Iraqi-Moroccan Economic Council, Mr. Kamal Rahal, President of Rahal Group, Sharif Moulay Mustapha El Alaoui, President Director General of 2MA Holding, and Mr. Ibrahim Zeliki, an investor in the agricultural field.

During the meeting, the delegation’s head Mr. Amine Laguidi presented an interposition on the importance of food security in the Arab region, and the role of the Kingdom of Morocco in ensuring the achieving of Arab food security thanks to the directives of His Majesty King Mohammed VI. Moreover, the delegation highlighted the significance of Morocco as a land for agricultural investment, food processing, logistics, export and services.

H.E. AAAID’s President expressed his warm welcomes to the delegation, and briefly introduced AAAID’s role in achieving Arab food security; pointing out to AAAID’s keenness to work with the private sector to increase agricultural production and exploit opportunities of agricultural investment, with an aim to achieve food security in Arab countries, including the Kingdom of Morocco, where AAAID has steadily increased its investments and partnered with the private sector in multiple companies to raise its efficiency in the agricultural production field; referring to the attractive investment climate in the Kingdom of Morrocco.

Lastly, the meeting preceded the signing of a memorandum of understanding between the AAAID and both Detroit International and Africa Lion, which aim to enhance investment opportunities between the two parties, and enable the study of investment opportunities and cooperation in areas of mutual interest. It is worth noting that receiving the Moroccan delegation and signing the memorandum of understanding with the two companies comes as part of AAAID’s activities aimed at strengthening relations with the private sector, as well as working to find promising investment opportunities to achieve AAAID’s goals.
