AAAID signs MoU with Arab Gulf Programme for Development (AGFUND)

On Wednesday, May 22, 2024, in the Arab Republic of Egypt, a MoU was signed between the Arab Authority for Agricultural Investment and Development (AAAID) and the Arab Gulf Programme for Development (AGFUND). H.E. Dr. Obaid Saif Hamad Al Zaabi, Chairman of the Board of Directors, signed on behalf of AAAID, and H.E. Dr. Nasser Bin Bakr Al-Qahtani, Executive Director of AGFUND.

The MoU aims to establish a general framework for cooperation between the two parties in areas relevant to their objectives. These include financing small scall farmers and agricultural projects in Arab countries, providing technical and advisory support for capacity building and development, exchanging expertise in feasibility study preparation and evaluation, sharing knowledge and consultations between the parties, and coordinating jointly in regional and international events related to their goals.

It is worth noting that AGFUND aims at sustainable human development, contributing to poverty reduction, enriching knowledge, developing capacities, and encouraging innovation and initiative. It focuses on enhancing financial inclusion in the Arab region, with particular emphasis on supporting small farmers.
