Dutch Interest and Discussions For collaboration in AAAID’s projects

In response to the invitation sent by AAAID, Her Excellency Dr. Karin Boven, Ambassador to the Kingdom of Netherlands, Eritrea, Chad and Central African Republic in Sudan, met with His Excellency Mohammed Bin Obaid Al Mazrooei. The meeting took place on May 6, 2018, at AAAID’s headquarters in Khartoum, Sudan, with the aim of introducing the Ambassador to AAAID and its areas of work and discuss the possibility of cooperation with the Kingdom of the Netherlands.

His Excellency, the President welcomed the Ambassador and explained the programs and activities of the Arab Authority that support the goal of reaching food security. For her part, H.E the Ambassador thanked H.E the President of the Arab Authority for the warm welcome received and for providing the opportunity to meet with him, praising the status of AAAID and its projects and potential that contribute to bridging the food gap. She further explained that the aim of the visit is to identify the Arab Authority and its fields of work and strengthen cooperation with the Dutch Embassy in areas that serve development and promote food security.

Additionally, the meeting discussed ways of collaboration in the operation of the dairy unit of the Arab Agricultural Production and Processing Company – one of AAAID’s affiliate companies located in El Bagair, Sudan. This is with the knowledge that the Netherlands is an advanced country in the dairy sector. The meeting also contained talks for cooperation in the Al Mutamayiza for Vegetables and Crop Production project. Her Excellency Dr. Boven also emphasized the significance of the Arab Authority’s projects by providing her support through introducing AAAID’s activities to potential Dutch investors.

Her Excellency also stressed – especially as she is Ambassador to a number of African countries – the importance of linking AAAID’s projects with neighboring African countries. This aims to support of States in the economic scope, to reduce migration and resettlement, by employing youth and providing employment opportunities.
