As part of AAAID efforts to explore the latest developments and innovations in the halal industry and establish strategic partnerships to enhance this sector, Dr. Obaid Saif Hamad Al Zaabi, Chairman of Board, accompanied by a delegation from AAAID, participated in the opening ceremony of Bahrain Halal Expo. The event took place on Tuesday, February 6, 2024, in Manama, Bahrain.
During the event, H.E. Dr. Al Zaabi met with H.E. Abdullah bin Adel Fakhro, Minister of Industry and Commerce of Bahrain, as well as Mr. Saud Nasser Alkhusaibi, President of the Gulf Standardization Organization, and Mr. Adriano Silva Pucci, Ambassador of Brazil to Bahrain, and Mr. Rafael from the Arab-Brazilian Chamber of Commerce, and Mr. Abdul Hadi Mirza, CEO of Delmon Poultry Company, and Mr. Ahmed Baqer, Investment Manager at a property group, along with several other investors interested in establishing investment partnerships with AAAID in the field of agricultural production and manufacturing.
During the interviews, Dr. Al Zaabi provided an overview about AAAID, its vision, mission, objectives, activities, and its role in enhancing food security. He also mentioned that AAAID is studying various investment opportunities in Bahrain, including a project for Broiler production aiming to produce approximately 6.4 thousand tons of poultry meat annually to help meet the poultry meat demand in Bahrain.
Furthermore, Dr. Al Zaabi also met with thought leaders, businessmen, investors, decision-makers, and experts. It is worth mentioning that the Bahrain Halal Expo is an important platform that aims to promote dialogue, innovation, and collaboration between the halal industry and Islamic finance sectors. The event included a series of lectures and workshops on the halal industry, Islamic finance, and available opportunities.
