FAO Representative in Khartoum praises the role of the Arab Authority in Achieving food security

On Tuesday, 19 September 2017, HE Mr. Mohammed bin Obaid Al Mazrooei, President and Chairman of the Arab Authority for Agricultural Investment and Development (AAAID), welcomed at his office at the AAAID headquarters in Khartoum, H.E Mr. Babagana Ahmadu FAO Representative in Sudan.

H.E the President congratulated H.E Mr. Babagana on his selection as the FAO Representative in Sudan and wished him success in his duties. He also explained more about the Arab Authority and its activities in Arab countries and the Arab Authority’s efforts in the fields of investment and development and the adoption of modern technologies. As well as AAAID’s contributions to the development of infrastructure in the areas of agricultural projects as it is a key factor in the success of agricultural investments.
For his part, H.E Mr. Babagana thanked the President of the Arab Authority for the opportunity to meet with him, as part of his visits to the institutions with in the related field. He also praised the efforts of the Arab Authority in the field of agriculture, stressing that FAO is working to find the necessary treatments for the increasing prices of food commodities globally.

To conclude the meeting, H.E Mr. Babagana stressed his keenness of to support the cooperation and coordination between the Arab Authority and FAO in matters of achievement of food security. He also highlighted the importance of the role of the Arab Authority in achieving food security by developing the agricultural resources that are rich in the Arab world.
